Robert Bowling aka FourTwoZero, Community Manager for Infinity Ward has confirmed that the feature patch for PS3 has gone live in America today. He also said that they are rolling out the EU/Oceania region patch, however I have just logged onto CoD and have not yet been prompted to download it. I will be monitoring the situation (and playing a little bit of Uncharted) and will post as soon as anything surfaces.

[Update] It appears that Sony Computer Entertainment America may have jumped the gun on the release of the patch, hence why we’re lagging (pun intended) behind. Thats what im picking up from the IW forums and of course, 402’s posting. Im just a little too eager for news on this!

Atleast we can take solace in the fact that we’re not the only ones who havent got the patch yet.

[Comment] On blog comments sections and messageboards, patchless gamers (Oceania/Europe) are reporting fast match making, no lag and generally good games. This is likely attributable to the fact that US gamers cant connect to us and vice-versa. This raises an interesting question, which is the better scenario less people to play with (see: kill) or better games. It is also relevant to Army of Two seeing as it has region locked online.

[Update] more info is surfacing about the reported hacks for the PS3 version of the game. The hack supposedly offers unlimited ammo, an aimbot, the ability to see other players names through walls and other cheats. It was also reported that the feature patch closes the loopholes these hacks use, however commenters [Rumour] have noted that this is not the case as they have come into contact with suspicious gamers online after installing the patch.
